Heroes, not superheroes.

Characters, not caricatures.

Real people. Real stories.

Lives lived.

Why?

That was what she wanted to know.

She had moved past anger. Past fear. Past doubt and resentment and hatred. All things to which she was entitled.

She had healed. Was healing. But now she needed to know why.

Drugs. Alcohol. Promiscuity

Isolation.

Therapy.

Volunteering and public speaking.

She tried it all. Everything. Every possible solution known to man. Every possible solution created by man.

Nothing worked.

Then she met TJ.

It took nearly three decades, but finally, in the simplest of ways, in the quickest of turns, she found a solution. Her solution.

A few wispy trees, a couple of chickens and a horse named TJ. This is where she found healing. Found calm. Found peace and understanding.

This is where she found home.

Now stronger, happier, more comfortable and confident in her own skin - for it was once again hers - she wanted to know why.

Not why this had happened to her. Not why she was so unlucky. Not why this monster had stolen her life from her.

No. She was bigger than that now.

What she wanted to know now was why?

Why did this young boy do this?

What happened to him? What put him on this path?

How had this innocent little boy been turned into this monster?

By whom?

Why?

By understanding how our disconnect from nature and our misconception and misuse of power has led to so many of us devolving and becoming inhumane to one another, we aim to express the value of daily interaction with the wonder and awe that is the natural world.

We can show people a way to rediscover their place within nature, not above it or over it. A place where honesty, decency and mutual respect are the norm, not the exception.

We can show them the path that helped Jennie rediscover herself, her value and the value of every living thing around her. This, we believe, is the path to a more tolerant, more understanding, more accepting, loving and joyful humanity.

This is how we keep that next little boy from becoming a monster.

This is how we keep all of us from becoming monsters.
